Controversy, Not Sex Sells

I have to admit, I did go around looking for this issue of Vanity Fair just to be given the blank look and stares as if I have spoken Greek. Well, even if the magazine attracts attention all over the world with vanityfair.com hitting the highest traffic on the day the magazine is out, the sheer nudeness of its cover would have been banned to hit Malaysian shores. And if one is to find it, would it even be legal to own it. Ahem!

Having one woman's man with 2 naked ladies or 3 naked ladies equals sex but would not elicit as much attention as having one gay man and 2 naked ladies that equals ??!!!!!. How cool is that? Controversy sells, not sex anymore. It is in the quest of unattainable that provokes our attention and piques our curiosity. How could 1 gay man be possibly be so close to 2 naked beautiful ladies yet be in the position he loathes the most?!

Perhaps that is how Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton got so much attention. All their notoriety is doing them more good than bad. Even the contestants of American Idol are given the opportunity to strut their talent only of they present something worth talking about on tv no matter how untalented they are. So, should you create yourself some controversies? It might do you good, or at least allow you to enjoy 5 secs of fame.

On a lighter note, I have been getting to know a lot of gay guys who became great friends of mine due to their sensitivity and gentleness. Their niceness just attracts me to them like bees to flowers. A lot of them could be found in the gym I go to, Fitness First. Despite their conscious effort to look good and spending more time in front of the mirror, I think these people are a funnier bunch to hang out with. Think Carson Kelly from Queer Eye For the Straight Guy, so incredibly funny. Besides, I never have to worry about them falling for me. :P
